We're Utilizing Football as an Engaging Tool for Education

and Commemoration

Keeping in mind that football (soccer) is one of the most powerful unifying forces across Africa and the global African diaspora, the African Nations Colonization Memorial (ANCOM) is strategically using football not just for entertainment but also as a dynamic educational and commemorative platform.

ANCOM is dedicated to working closely with the highest governing body for football in Africa, the Confederation of African Football (CAF), to ensure that throughout all aspects of the sport — including competitions like the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) and the CAF Champions League, which represent 56 national associations — African Martyrs of the Transatlantic Slave Trade, Colonization, and Apartheid are displayed on LED perimeter boards, with virtual overlay technology providing targeted ads to different regional audiences.
